Acknowledgment of our tribal government and protection of our sovereignty is strengthened by the passing of laws and the adherence to those laws. The more our tribal people utilize the laws and policies established by the tribal government, the stronger our government becomes and the greater its capacity to assert tribal sovereignty.

Tribal Supreme Court

Tribal Court Logo No TextIn order to better protect our sovereignty, establishing our court system in accordance with our Constitution became a priority. On March 16, 2013, Reverend John Norwood was appointed and confirmed as the first Principal Justice of the Tribal Supreme Court, heading up that branch of our tribal government.
